Our Wax

Whether you’re dipping bottles or applying a brand enhancing seal to your packaging we have a range of waxes to suit your specific requirements.

Our dipping wax is found on some of the most exclusive whisky bottles including special release bottles of the Glenfiddich 50 Year Old, The Macallan in Lalique, The Ardbeg and many more.

Although most of our clients are in the drinks industry, we have also supplied to perfumeries, artisan food producers and more. It’s even been used for the wax seals on invites to the annual royal garden party at Buckingham Palace.

We supply the dipping wax to major brands around the world and have clients across Europe, South America, The Indian Ocean and the Carribean.

We also manufacture wax cartouches and wax seals. Molten wax seals can be applied to many materials including cord, tear strips, and decorative ribbon to name just a few. We also manufacture bespoke self adhesive wax seals that can be applied to glass, wood, leather, boxes…the list goes on, limited only by your imagination.

Unique Blends

Like the whisky in our clients’ bottles our wax blends are individual with different characteristics depending on the specification required

Our blends, a closely guarded secret, have been developed over many years; tried and tested by not only ourselves but our customers too. We believe that our bottle sealing wax is the finest quality available anywhere in the world. So whether you’re applying it to glass, metal, wood, plastic or paper you can be confident that our wax will give you exceptional results.

Available in three finishes, standard, pearlescent and metallic our proprietary dipping wax adheres flawlessly and peels off the bottle without cracking or crumbling. Our Colours are blended from premium pigments that are UV stable, making the wax lightfast.

Once dipped the wax can be easily stamped while still warm, or cold, with your own logo, batch number or design.

We have different blends for the manufacture of wax cartouches and wax seals. These are moulded in a robust, non malleable, hard wax blend resulting in a long-lasting finish that will not lose definition over time.

Bespoke Colour

While we have an extensive range of stock colours sometimes our clients are looking for something just a little bit different.

Our blenders are more than happy to work with you to achieve that special colour for your product. We can match to industry standard colours such as Pantone and RAL or we can match a sample swatch, logo, fabric, etc.

Sustainability

There’s no getting away from the fact that our wax is an oil based product. But we take our environmental responsibilities very seriously and have introduced a number of measures designed to reduce our impact.

We run our factory on 100% renewable electricity, which reduces our carbon footprint each year. Oakbank has also sponsored a number of local sustainability / environmental offset projects such as our beehive.

Remember too that our wax can be recycled. Surplus wax can be re-used again and again. Simply collect any unused wax, melt and pour into a suitable container to be used again. It’s even possible to mix different colours together.
